Abstract: PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to minimize power consumption by intercepting power required for driving a first sub pixel during a standby mode. CONSTITUTION: In a liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof, transmission regions are formed in a liquid crystal panel(22) by a horizontal line unit. A reflective region is located between the transmission region intervals respectively. A first sub pixel(42) is formed in the transmission region. A second sub pixel(44) is formed in the reflective region. The second sub pixel(44) is set to be less than first sub pixel.
