An organic light emitting display includes a pixel unit including pixels coupled to scan lines and data lines, a DC-DC converter for transmitting a voltage level of at least one power source of a first power source and a second power source to provide the power source to the pixel unit, and a voltage controller for controlling a voltage level transition time of the DC-DC converter. A method of driving such an organic light emitting display may include converting an input voltage into a predetermined first voltage level of a driving power source, adjusting the first level voltage of the driving power source to a second level voltage, wherein the second level voltage reaches a steady state, and applying black data to a pixel unit during a time period when the first level voltage is being adjusted to the second level voltage.

PURPOSE: An organic electroluminescent display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce power consumption by varying and offering drive power. CONSTITUTION: A pixel part(100) includes pixels which are connected with scan lines and data lines. A DC-DC converter(400) changes and offers one or more voltage levels of a first power source(ELVDD) and a second power source(ELVSS) in the pixel part. The first power source has a high level voltage value. The second power source has a low level voltage value. A voltage controlling part(500) controls the voltage level varying time of the DC-DC converter.

PURPOSE: An organic light emitting display device and a driving method thereof are provided to adjust the voltage of second power corresponding to a surrounding temperature, thereby increasing the efficiency of a DC-DC converter. CONSTITUTION: A driver IC(200) generates a control signal with the number of pulses corresponding to a surrounding temperature. Driving of a DC-DC converter(300) is determined by a control signal. A booster circuit generates first power(ELVDD) by boosting an input voltage. An inverter circuit receives and inverts an input voltage to generate second power(ELVSS). The inverter circuit converts the second power based on the number of the pulses of the control signal.

CONSTITUTION: In a dc-dc converter and an organic light emitting display using the same, a first voltage generator(410) switches an input voltage and charges electromotive force to a coil. A first voltage generator generates a first voltage. A second voltage generator(420) switches the input voltage to charge electromotive force to the coil. The second voltage generator generates a second voltage A PWM controller(430) controls the switching time of the first and second voltage generator. A voltage regulator varies the voltage level of the second voltage. The voltage regulator controls a variable time.

본 발명에 따른 DC-DC 컨버터 및 그를 이용한 유기전계발광표시장치에 의하면, DC-DC 컨버터의 입력단의 전압과 관계없이 출력되는 전압이 일정하기 때문에 제 1 전원의 전압에 변함이 없다. 따라서, 용량이 큰 배터리를 사용하더라도 유기발광다이오드에 흐르는 전류량은 변화가 없다. 본 발명은 배터리에서 출력되는 전원의 전압을 감지하는 전압감지부; 상기 전원을 전달 받아 상기 전원의 전압이 소정치 이하이면 구동을 정지하여 상기 전원을 바이패스하고 상기 전원의 전압이 소정치를 초과하면 구동하여 상기 입력전원의 전압을 낮춰 출력하는 레귤레이터; 상기 입력전압의 전압이 상기 소정치 이하이면 상기 레귤레이터의 구동을 제어하는 제어부; 및 상기 입력전압을 전달받아 제 1 화소전원과 제 2 화소전원을 출력하는 전원생성부를 포함하는 DC-DC 컨버터를 제공하는 것이다.

PURPOSE: An organic light emitting display is provided to prevent the degradation of the picture quality by varying the voltage transferred to the cathode of the organic light emitting diode. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of pixels are arranged in a pixel unit(100a). Each pixel comprises the organic light emitting diode that emits light corresponding to the flow of the current. The pixel unit comprises a plurality of scanning lines transferring the scanning signal along the row direction, a plurality of lighting control lines transferring the lighting control signal along the row direction and a plurality of data lines transferring data signal to the column direction. The pixel unit is driven according to a first power source, a second power source, a 3rd current source and an initializing voltage. A driver IC(200a) transfers a scanning signal, a data signal, the first power source, the second power source, the 3rd current source and the initializing voltage. The driver IC comprises a signal generator(210a) generating the scanning signal, the lighting control signal, and the data signal and a power generator(220a) generating the first power source, the second power source, and the 3rd current source and the initializing voltage.
