    Abstract: PURPOSE: A dual liquid crystal display device is provided to improve optical efficiency about a reflective liquid crystal panel while controlling brightness uniformity about a transmissive liquid crystal display panel. CONSTITUTION: The first LCD panel(10) displays an image by the first side. The second LCD panel(20) displays an image by the second side. A light source(32) is located in the side adjacent to the lower part of the first LCD panel. A dot pattern is formed on the first side of the first light guide unit(34') of a light guide plate. A stepped groove(33) of a tapered shape is formed on the first side of the second light guide unit(34"). A dot pattern is formed on the second side of the second light guide unit. A housing(40) includes an opening(42) to correspond to an image display side of the second LCD panel. The first LCD panel is realized by a transmissive LCD panel. The second LCD panel is realized by a reflective LCD panel.

    Abstract: A dual LCD device is provided to control the brightness uniformity by forming a DBEF(Dual Brightness Enhancement Film) on a corresponding surface of the second light guide unit. A light source(32) is positioned at the adjacent side of a lower part of the first LCD panel. A light guide plate(34') is positioned at lower parts of the first and second LCD panels and comprises the first and second light guide units. The first light guide unit is formed in a dot pattern. In the second light guide unit, a V-shaped groove is formed. A housing fixes the first and second LCD panels, a light source and the light guide plate. An opening part is equipped in the housing so as to correspond to an image display surface of the second LCD panel.
