    Abstract: A symbol detector based on a frequency error correction in a zigbee system and a method for detecting a symbol using the same are provided to detect a symbol by estimating a frequency error and correcting the frequency error based on one symbol included in a preamble. A frequency error estimating unit(310) acquires a frequency error element existed in a receiving signal based on a specific symbol included in a preamble of the receiving signal packet.     Abstract: A timing estimator of an OQPSK(Offset Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) modulator is provided to attenuate frequency error by using a phase difference between a conjugate complex number signal of a receiving signal with a delayed estimation time and the receiving signal. A timing estimator of an OQPSK modulator includes an A/D converter(100), a differential circuit unit(200), a correlation operating unit(300), and a synchronization detecting unit(400). The A/D converter(100) converts an analog receiving signal to a digital receiving signal. The differential circuit unit(200) delays the digital receiving signal from the A/D converter(100) for a predetermined time, calculates a phase difference between a conjugate complex number signal of the delayed digital receiving signal, and the digital receiving signal from the A/D converter(100), and offsets a frequency error in the digital receiving signal. The correlation operating unit(300) performs a correlation operation of a reference symbol differentiated by the same method with the differentiation of the differential circuit unit(200), and the receiving signals from the differentiation circuit unit(200), and calculates each correlation value.
