Abstract: An apparatus for controlling an amount of air in an air conditioner and a method thereof are provided to separately set a target revolution number of an indoor fan motor, thereby more comfortably maintaining a temperature of the air discharged during heating. An apparatus for controlling an amount of air in an air conditioner includes a signal input part(100), a drive part, a revolution number detection part(130), and a controller(140). The signal input part sets a heating target revolution number of an indoor fan motor sub-divided into multi-stages. The drive part operates the indoor fan unit depending on the set target revolution number to perform a heating operation. The revolution number detection part detects the revolution number of the operating indoor fan motor to detect a discharge airflow. The controller resets the revolution number of the indoor fan motor according to the detected discharge airflow to control the indoor fan motor.
