Abstract: Provided is an air cleaner capable of inspecting the open/short error of the air pollution level sensor by preparing an inspection mode for inspecting if an air pollution level sensor mounted on the air cleaner has an open/short error that outputs and maintains a sensor value of the same signal level although pollution conditions of external air are changed. The air cleaner comprises: a key input part(20) into which instructions of a user are inputted; an air pollution level sensor comprising a gas sensor(21) and a dust sensor(22) for detecting pollution levels(gas and dust) of indoor air sucked in an air inlet; a fan drive part(30) for operating an air circulation fan(30a); a control part(10) for inspecting an overall sensor error of the air pollution level sensor; and a display part(31) for displaying a sensor error of the air pollution level sensor according to a control signal of the control part, wherein the control part inspects the open/short error of the air pollution level sensor by implementing an inspection mode for inspecting if the air pollution level sensor has an open/short error that outputs and maintains a sensor value of the same signal level although pollution conditions of external air are changed according to the instructions of the user.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling an amount of air in an air conditioner and a method thereof are provided to separately set a target revolution number of an indoor fan motor, thereby more comfortably maintaining a temperature of the air discharged during heating. An apparatus for controlling an amount of air in an air conditioner includes a signal input part(100), a drive part, a revolution number detection part(130), and a controller(140). The signal input part sets a heating target revolution number of an indoor fan motor sub-divided into multi-stages. The drive part operates the indoor fan unit depending on the set target revolution number to perform a heating operation. The revolution number detection part detects the revolution number of the operating indoor fan motor to detect a discharge airflow. The controller resets the revolution number of the indoor fan motor according to the detected discharge airflow to control the indoor fan motor. The apparatus further includes a discharge temperature detection part.
