Abstract: A refrigerator is provided to shorten time taken to prepare ingredient by installing a chopping board on a shelf of the refrigerator. A refrigerator(1) comprises a refrigerator compartment(1a), a freezer compartment(1b), a case(10), a door(11), a storage(12), and a shelf(20). The case has an open front surface and includes the storage. Doors are hinged to the front surface of case. A plurality of draws and shelves are provided in the refrigerator compartment and the freezer compartment. The shelf is supported by a guide part(13) installed at two sides of an inner surface of the case. A chopping board is formed on a surface of the shelf. A grip part is formed at an end of the shelf.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A refrigerator and an ice making system thereof are provided to efficiently use the internal space of a storage compartment in which the ice making system is installed and to prevent an ice making device and a dispenser unit from obstructing user's field of view. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises a main body, a storage door, an ice making device(110), and a dispenser unit(160). The main body has an internal storage compartment. The storage door opens and closes the storage compartment on the front side of the main body. The ice making device is arranged inside the storage compartment and creates ice. The dispenser unit is arranged in the storage door. The ice making device includes an ice making chamber(120) which is separately defined in the storage compartment at the same height as the dispenser unit.
