Abstract: 본 발명은 스마트폰에서 PDA 어플리케이션(application) 사용 시 메모리 부족에 따른 PDA 락업(lock up)을 방지할 수 있도록 하는 방법을 제공하도록 구현된다. 이를 위해 본 발명은 스마트폰에서 PDA 어플리케이션 사용 시 사용가능한 메모리 용량을 체크하여 가용 메모리 용량이 임계치 이하일 경우 폰 모듈을 통해 읽어온 데이터를 삭제함으로써 메모리 용량을 확보한다.
이에 따라 스마트폰에서 데이터를 저장하려고 하는 어플리케이션이 강제종료당하는 것을 방지할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 PDA 기능이 락업되어 재부팅해야만 하는 상황을 방지할 수 있게 된다. 이 때, 삭제되는 데이터는 가입자 인증 모듈(SIM: Subscriber Identification Module) 데이터이며 예를 들어, 폰북, 단문 메시지 등을 말한다. 이렇게 함으로써, 본 발명은 PDA 모듈에 저장된 가입자 인증 정보와 같은 사용자 정보들이 백업되어 있지 않은 상태에서 계속 사용자 데이터를 저장하는 기능이 사용되면 메모리 고갈 상황이 발생하여 PDA 기능이 락업되어 강제 종료당하는 hard reset을 해야하는 상황을 방지할 수 있는 이점이 있다.
