Abstract: A developing unit and an image forming apparatus using the same are provided to prevent an image from being degraded by reducing a front pressure of a restriction blade to less than 40 gf/cm. A developing unit is mounted to an image forming apparatus including a photoresist medium and supplies a toner to the photoresist medium to form an image. The developing unit includes a housing(21), a developing roller(23), and a restriction blade. The housing is filled with the toner of a predetermined color. A pressing spring is connected with the pressing lever. A release unit releases a pressing force applied to the pressing roller by operating the pressing lever. A power converting unit transfers power of a main driving source for driving the heating roller to the release unit.
