    Abstract: PURPOSE: A self-resonant apparatus for a wireless power transmission system is provided to assure small size and high quality factor. CONSTITUTION: A source (110) includes a variable switching power supply (111), a power amplifier (112), a matching network (113), a control part (114) and a communication part (115). The variable switching mode power supply generates a DC voltage by switching an AC voltage of several Hz bandwidth outputted from a power supply unit. The control part detects mismatching between a target resonator (131) and a source resonator (133) on the basis of the detected reflected wave. The source resonator delivers electromagnetic energy (130) to the target resonator. A target (200) includes a matching network (121), a rectification part (122), a DC/DC converter (123), a communication part (124) and a control part (125).

CONSTITUTION: A first(210) device is a solid-state mechanical resonator being made of a magnetostrictive material. A second device is a converter converting mechanical energy generated based on oscillation of the mechanical resonator into electrical power. The mechanical resonator is operated by an external electromagnetic field at a resonance frequency of the resonator. The mechanical resonator is made of a magnetostrictive ferrite. The converter maintains a quality factor of the mechanical resonator.
