Abstract: An apparatus and a method for changing a background image in a mobile communication terminal are provided to change a background image according to the operation state of the mobile terminal without opening/closing a folder or sliding up/down. An image stored in a memory is set as a background image according to background image information and displayed. The operation according to the request of a user is performed(206). An image next to the image set as the present background image is selected in the preset sequence(210). It is determined if the operational state of the mobile terminal returns to an idle state as the operation according to the request of a user is terminated or canceled. The selected image is loaded by the return to the idle state. The loaded image is set as a background image.

Abstract: 본 발명은 이동통신 단말기에서의 배경화면 변경 장치 및 변경 방법을 제공한다. 이를 위해 본 발명은, 이동통신 단말기의 동작 상태가 변경되는 경우, 이동통신 단말기가 현재 수행하고 있는 동작이 종료 또는 취소되어 동작 상태가 대기 상태(Idle State)로 환원되었는지를 체크하고, 이동통신 단말기의 동작 상태가 대기 상태로 환원된 경우 기 설정된 순서에 따라 특정 이미지를 배경화면으로 설정하는 배경화면 선택부를 구비한다. 그리고 이동통신 단말기의 동작 상태가 대기 상태로 환원되면, 배경화면으로 설정된 다수의 이미지들 중 어느 하나를 기 설정된 순서에 따라 선택한다. 그리고 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 이동통신 단말기의 제어부가 상기 배경화면 선택부로부터 선택된 이미지를 배경화면으로 설정하여 디스플레이한다. 이에 따라 본 발명에서는 이동통신 단말기의 동작 상태가 대기 상태로 환원될 때마다 배경화면이 변경되고 이에 따라 사용자의 단조로움을 해소할 수 있다는 효과가 있다.

Abstract: A text input apparatus in a portable terminal and a method thereof are provided to input a desired foreign language without executing a special mode transfer operation by obtaining and displaying a foreign language corresponding to a character inputted in Hangul in case a user inputs a foreign language in Hangul input mode. A text input apparatus in a portable terminal(100) comprises a storage part(110), an input part(120), a character management part(130), a searching part(140), a control part(150), and a display part(160). The storage part(110) stores one or more pieces of information mapped to characters of the second language having similar meanings to combinations of characters of the first language. The input part(120) is provided to input characters in the first language. The character management part(130) separates a combination of characters, inputted through the input part(120), in preset character units. If a language change signal is inputted as a navigation key is pushed for the last character of the separated combination during more than a preset time, the searching part(140) obtains one or more characters of the second language, which have a similar meaning to the separated combination, from the storage part(110). The control part(150) creates a character selection list including the obtained characters. The display part(160) displays the created character selection list.
