Abstract: The present invention relates to a booting apparatus to reduce a booting time and a method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the booting apparatus may include: loading a snapshot image from a non-volatile memory; initializing a device; compressing and releasing the loaded snapshot image while initializing the device; and loading another snapshot image from the non-volatile memory while compressing and releasing the loaded snapshot image. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the booting time may be reduced by performing loading of the snapshot image, compressing and releasing the snapshot image, and initializing the device in parallel.
