Abstract: A capsulated colorant is provided to form an ink composition implementing a character with excellent water resistance, light-proof, abrasion resistance, and optical density and an image with excellent durability and printing gloss. A capsulated colorant comprises a coloring agent and a polymer resin coating the coloring agent. The polymer resin is cross-linked to have the degree of swelling of about 10-150 %. The polymer resin is obtained by polymerizing a composition containing a polymerizable unsaturated monomer, a cross-linking agent and a polymerization initiator.
