Abstract: 본 발명은 디스플레이장치 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 디스플레이부와, 복수의 채널을 통해 방송신호를 수신하는 신호수신부를 갖는 디스플레이장치는 패스워드를 입력하기 위한 사용자입력부와; 기설정된 패스워드가 저장되어 있는 암호저장부와; 입력된 상기 복수의 채널 중 선택된 일부의 선택채널이 설정되면 상기 선택채널만 상기 디스플레이부에 표시하는 선택채널모드를 선택하기 위한 상기 패스워드와 상기 암호저장부에 저장되어 있는 상기 기설정된 패스워드가 일치하는 경우, 상기 사용자입력부를 통해 입력되는 입력신호에 따라 상기 선택채널모드 정보를 조절하는 제어부를 포함한다. 이에 의해, 패스워드와 기설정된 패스워드가 일치하는 경우에만 사용자가 선택채널모드와 관련된 기능을 조정할 수 있도록 하여 임의의 자가 선택채널모드에 접근하는 것을 방지한다.

Abstract: A method for setting a channel in a digital television is provided to read channel information from a digital television where auto channel setup is completed and copy the read channel information in the other digital television where the auto channel setup is not performed. By connecting a channel information read/write unit to an arbitrary digital television where auto channel setup is completed, channel information is read from the digital television(S201,S202). By connecting the channel information read/write unit to the other digital television where the auto channel setup is not performed, the read channel information is copied to the other digital television(S203,S204).
