Abstract: A computer system and a control method thereof are provided to restrict spatial restriction for including various kinds of operation information generators to obtain various kinds of operation information by enabling one tool to perform a direction key and a pointing device selectively. An operator(110) performs at least one operation. An operation information generator(120) generates direction information and movement quantity information corresponding to a moving direction by detecting user operation. A mode selector(130) receives user selection for an operation mode. A controller(140) controls the operator based on direction information or the movement quantity information of the operation information generator depending on the user selection received through the mode selector. The operation information generator outputs a first information signal including the direction and movement quantity information, and a second information signal including the direction and movement quantity information, and having a different signal protocol from the first information signal. The operation information generator includes a sensor, a signal generator, and a signal converter.

Abstract: An electronic device system and a controlling method thereof are provided to increase portability and usability by making an electronic device satisfy driving power of an external device connected to the electronic device without any external power.
