    Abstract: The present invention relates to a drain pump which has an improved structure for the attachment and detachment of a pump filter and a washing machine including the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine comprises a cabinet; a tub; a pump case for draining washing water from the tub; a pump filter which filters foreign substances in water supplied from the tub and is detachable from the pump case; and a pump filter head which is connected to one side of the pump filter and rotates the pump filter. The pump filter head includes a first head which has a first state in which the first head is interlocked with one side of the pump case and a second state in which the first head is released from the pump case; and a second head which is placed on the front side of the first head and is able to rotate independently from the first head. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine enables a user to emotionally recognize whether the pump filter is fully locked to the pump case or not, thereby preventing damage due to water leakage caused by the pump filter which is imperfectly locked to the case.
