Abstract: A washing machine of the present invention includes: a cabinet; a drum which is arranged to be able to rotate inside the cabinet; and a detergent supply device which supply detergent to the inside of the drum; a water supply valve assembly which has a valve body for controlling the amount of water supplied to the detergent supply device, a water supply hole arranged in one side of the valve body and extended in the outside direction of the cabinet, and a drainage hole extended in the inside direction of the cabinet from the other side of the valve body; and a backflow valve assembly which is connected to the water supply hole. The backflow preventing device includes: a backflow preventing device housing which is combine with the water supply hole; a water supply hose which is connected to the backflow preventing device housing at one end and is supplied with washing water from the outside at the other end; and an opening and closing member which adheres to one end of the water supply hose when the washing water flows back and is arranged inside the backflow preventing device housing so that the washing water does not flow in the water supply hose. The forementioned structure prevents the corrosion of a water pipe or water supply hose, increases water supply efficiency, reduces a production price, and installs conveniently because a backflow can be prevented in the hose by having the backflow preventing device in the water supply hole.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a drain pump which has an improved structure for the attachment and detachment of a pump filter and a washing machine including the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine comprises a cabinet; a tub; a pump case for draining washing water from the tub; a pump filter which filters foreign substances in water supplied from the tub and is detachable from the pump case; and a pump filter head which is connected to one side of the pump filter and rotates the pump filter. The pump filter head includes a first head which has a first state in which the first head is interlocked with one side of the pump case and a second state in which the first head is released from the pump case; and a second head which is placed on the front side of the first head and is able to rotate independently from the first head. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine enables a user to emotionally recognize whether the pump filter is fully locked to the pump case or not, thereby preventing damage due to water leakage caused by the pump filter which is imperfectly locked to the case.
