Abstract: PURPOSE: A wafer transferring apparatus is provided to transfer easily wafers and prevent damages of the wafers by adhering a handle on a carrier and installing a guide at the both sides of a front side of the carrier. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of slots are installed in the inside of solid carrier(10). A guide(12) is formed at the both sides of a front side of the solid carrier(10). The guide(12) is opened to both sides or shut to a center portion. A handle(14) is adhered to an upper portion of the solid carrier(10). The guide(12) is used for preventing escape of wafers from the slots when the carrier(10) is transferred. A worker fixes firmly the wafers by using the guide(12). The worker can easily transfer the carrier(10) by using the handle(14). The guide(12) can be automatically opened and shut by using a predetermined device.

Abstract: An optical device with a quantum well is provided. The optical device includes an active layer made of a Group III-V semiconductor compound and having a quantum well of a bandgap grading structure in which conduction band energy and valence band energy change linearly with a slope with the content change of predetermined components while an energy bandgap between the conduction band energy and the valence band energy is maintained at a predetermined value; and two barrier layers, one of which is positioned on an upper surface of the active layer and the other is positioned on a lower surface of the active layer, and which are made of a Group III-V semiconductor compound and have higher conduction band energy and lower valence band energy than the active layer. A driving voltage is decreased and luminous efficiency and reliability are enhanced.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An optical device having a quantum well is provided to enhance the emission efficiency and lower a driving voltage by improving a structure of the quantum well. CONSTITUTION: An optical device having a quantum well includes an active layer and a plurality of barrier layers. The active layer is formed with a semiconductor compound of the third group and the fourth group. The active layer is used for maintaining a constant energy band gap according to a variation of contents. In addition, the active layer includes a quantum well having a band gap grading structure to reduce constantly energy of a conduction band and a valence band. The barrier layers are formed on a top part and a bottom part of the active layer. The barrier layers are formed with the semiconductor compound of the third group and the fourth group. The barrier layers have the conduction band having the higher energy than the conduction band of the active layer and the valence band having the lower energy than the valence band of the conduction band.
