PURPOSE: An apparatus for automatically selecting an outside input signal for a DVR(Digital Video Recorder) and a method thereof are provided to automatically select the outside input signal without a user's key manipulation in the DVR mode in a product combined a TV with a DVR. CONSTITUTION: A TV block(200) comprises an input member(120) for selecting and outputting a signal inputted from the outside and for outputting an id signal showing the presence or absence of the terminal connection according to a kind of the signal. A signal processing member(220) receives and processes the TV signal inputted from the input member. An image detecting member(221) detects the kind of the input signal and outputs a detecting signal(212). A DVR control member(110) receives the detecting signal according to the kind of the signal and transmits the received detecting signal to a video decoder(130). The video decoder(130) processes the signal outputted from the input member in order to fit to the kind of the signal transmitted from the DVR control member, divides the signal into Y(luminance), Cr and Cb and transmits the divided signal to a DVR signal processing member(140) through the respective signal line(131,132,133).

PURPOSE: A semiconductor device is provided to minimize etching damage on a material pattern which stores information and includes a material layer having different etching selectivity. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor device includes a first molding pattern(3a), a horizontal electrode pattern, a second molding pattern(3b), horizontal patterns and a vertical structured body(19). The vertical structured body includes a vertical electrode pattern, a data storage pattern(13), a first buffer pattern and a second buffer pattern. The vertical structured body passes through the horizontal patterns. The data storage pattern is formed among the vertical electrode pattern and the horizontal patterns.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for selecting a channel of the sub screen in a TV having PIP capability is provided to reduce the time required in sub screen channel selection by not using up-down key for channel selection of a conventional TV but using two tuner. CONSTITUTION: The method for selecting a channel in a sub screen includes following steps. The television includes two tuners and performs PIP(picture in picture) capability. At first, a PIP screen is selected. Then, whether a sub screen channel selection switch key included separately on a transmitter is input or not is determined. A sub screen is selected when the sub screen channel selection switch key is inputted. On the other hand, current channel is stored in a memory as a previous channel and the sub screen channel is selected by selecting input number channel when a number key is inputted.

The present invention relates to a backlight unit and a display device using the same which comprises light control units which are disposed on a side of a light guide plate and have different reflectance from each other. Light efficiency can be improved and occurrence of illuminating parts can be reduced by installing the light control units having different reflectance.

PURPOSE: A flexible display device is provided to extend a viewing angle for a user to look at the screen, by bending a part of the display device toward the user at a position out of the predetermined viewing angle range. CONSTITUTION: A flexible display panel(10) has a screen where information is displayed on the front. A panel transformation member(20) is able to transform the flexible display panel, as being installed in the rear of the flexible display panel. A panel rotation unit(30) supports and rotates the flexible display panel. A panel position and transformation control part(40) adjusts the position of the flexible display panel by controlling the panel rotation unit, and transforms the flexible display panel by controlling the panel transformation member. A command input device(50) is formed independently of the flexible display panel, and inputs a rotation position and curvature transformation command of the flexible display panel to the panel position and transformation control part.

A white balance correcting method of a display device is provided to detecting the brightness date and color coordinate by fixing the distance and measuring position of the first and second probes. A measurement pattern produced by a pattern producing apparatus is supplied to a display apparatus(S400). The feeder of a detection apparatus is positioned at the measurement pattern displayed on screens, the brightness data and color coordinates relating to the high light and low light are detected and then transmitted to a control apparatus(S420). The detected brightness data and the color coordinates are compared with the reference brightness data and color coordinates. When the comparison result is within an error range, the white balance control of a display apparatus is finished(S440).
