Abstract: PURPOSE: A power factor correction protective device and a control method thereof are provided to execute a normal operation by automatically varying a PFC(Power Factor Correction) control output inputted to a switching element according to the pattern of an incorrect connection. CONSTITUTION: A rectifier(20) rectifies three phase power source. A switching element(31~33) executes a PFC switching for the power factor correction of the rectifier. A current detector(40) detects the pattern of a current outputted from the switching element. A controller(50) detects an incorrect connection according to the detected pattern of a current. The controller varies a control output inputted to the switching element according the pattern of the incorrect connection corresponding to the pattern of a current. A storage(55) stores a current pattern due to the wiring of three phase power source.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A power factor correction device is provided to improve a power factor by delaying the on-time of a switching element from the zero-crossing point of an input voltage. CONSTITUTION: A rectifier(20) rectifies three phase power source. A switching element(31~33) operates a PFC(Power Factor Correction) switching for the power factor correction of a rectifier. A zero-crossing detection unit(60) detects the zero crossing point of an inputted voltage from three phase power source.
