Abstract: PURPOSE: A battery cover locking apparatus for a portable communication device is provided to implement a batter cover part made of a metal material in order to perform electromagnetic wave shield function. CONSTITUTION: A locking device(300) restricts or releases the movement of a battery cover according to a sliding movement. The locking device ascends or descends a battery cover part from a main body. One or more connection terminals are included in the main body. The connection terminals are electrically connected to the battery cover in order to offer the ground. The connection terminals ascend or descend the battery cover by the elastic force of the locking apparatus.

Abstract: An electronic device having a flat panel display is provided to realize a thin structure since a circuit board is disposed not to be overlapped with a battery and a flat panel display, and to facilitate assembly of a base and a cover. An electronic device(100) comprises a base(101), a cover(145), a battery(120), a flat panel display(125), and a circuit board(135). The base and cover are assembled to each other defining an internal space. The battery is disposed at a side of the internal space.
