Abstract: A display apparatus and a control method of the same are provided to perform a slide show function of a still image conveniently and to display UI information which controls the slide show function. A communication unit(10) communicates with an external source(200) which provides contents including a still image, and an image processor(30) processes an image signal. A controller(70) controls the image processor to perform a slide show function which indicates still images on a display unit in order every display period if the still images are provided based on the communication with the external source. A user selector(50) selects the slide show function.

Abstract: A broadcast receiving apparatus and a broadcast receiving method are provided to allow a user to easily select other channels than a currently selected channel by simultaneously displaying several screen images on a single screen without increasing the number of tuners. When a channel select screen image display command is inputted(S210), a controller controls to select still images of previous broadcasts discriminately stored in a sub-memory(S220). A combining unit generates a single broadcast screen by combining a main broadcast outputted after being decoded by a main decoder and still images of the previous broadcasts outputted after being decoded by a sub-decoder(S230). A broadcast output unit displays the combined broadcast screen image on a display unit(S240).
