Abstract: PURPOSE: A display device and a display method thereof are provided to display detailed information of items selected by a user through a simple manipulation and a plurality of lists which are corresponding to different categories. CONSTITUTION: A GUI(Graphic User Interface) generating part(160) indicates a plurality of lists on one screen. If a user selects an item included in one list, a controlling part(180) removes lists except for the list including the selected items. The controlling part transfers the list in which the selected item is included to one side of a screen and displays the detailed information of the selected item in the domain in which the lists disappeared. If the display finish operation of the detailed information is received, the controlling part eliminates the detailed information and restores the display location including the item.

Abstract: A method for providing a broadcast channel selection GUI(Graphic User Interface) equipped with a keypad operated by using a pointer and a broadcast reception device applying the same are provided to realize a slim remote controller with elimination of numeric buttons by inputting a desired broadcast channel through the keypad operated with the pointer. The keypad includes numeric keys for inputting numbers, and a discrimination key for discriminating major and minor broadcast channel numbers.
