Abstract: An image forming apparatus and a method of conveying a printing medium are provided to feed and discharge papers, remove jammed papers, replace expendable parts at the front of the apparatus by installing parts at the front of the apparatus. An image forming apparatus comprises a main body(10), a print unit, a conveying unit(110), and a discharged paper switching unit(120). The main body has a paper outlet(11) at the front. The print unit is installed in the main body, adjacent to the front part of the main body. The conveying unit conveys papers printed by the print unit to the back of the main body. The discharged paper switching unit changes direction of the printed papers to the paper outlet. Sensors(140,160) are installed on a paper route between the conveying unit and the discharged paper switching unit to detect movement of the paper.
