Abstract: An X-ray imaging apparatus and a method of controlling the same according to one aspect of the present invention provide an X-ray imaging apparatus, which can precisely set an imaging region and reduce user fatigue by designating a segmentation imaging region using an image of a target object taken by a camera and automatically controlling an X-ray generation unit according to the designated segmentation imaging region, and a method of controlling the same. Also, an X-ray imaging apparatus and a method of controlling the same according to another aspect of the present invention provide an X-ray imaging apparatus, which can designate an imaging region using an image of an object taken by a camera and adjust the position of an X-ray detection unit according to the designated imaging region, and a method of controlling the same. The X-ray imaging apparatus according to one aspect of the present invention comprises: an X-ray generation unit for generating and irradiating an X-ray to perform X-ray imaging of an object; an image acquisition unit for acquiring an image of the object; an image display unit for displaying the image acquired by the image acquisition unit; an input unit for receiving setting for a region, where segmentation imaging is to be performed, on the image displayed by the image display unit; and a control unit for controlling the X-ray generation unit to perform the segmentation imaging of the designated region.
