Abstract: A method and an apparatus for inputting multi language by being linked to a dictionary in a portable terminal are provided to perform input by being linked to the dictionary, thereby removing inconvenience when inputting multi language. An input unit(130) includes a plurality of keys for key input and inputs the first language word in a text input mode. A storage unit(110) stores the second language word or expressions corresponding to the first language word. A controller(120) searches and displays the second language word or expression corresponding to specific key input. The controller changes the first language word into a word or an expression selected among the displayed words or expressions. The display unit displays the searched second language word or expression on a screen to which the first language word is inputted.
