Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for managing neighbor base station information in a mobile communications system and a system thereof are provided to support handover between a macro base station and a femto base station. CONSTITUTION: Macro base stations(102,106) enables a service for a service region, and a femto ASN-GW(Access Service Network-Gateway)(124) controls at least one femto base station. The femto ASN-GW manages the scan information necessary to measure the strength of a signal by scanning the femto base stations. The femto ASN-GW transfers the configured information to the macro base station.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for handover in a broadband wireless communication system are provided to enable a terminal to use a forced switching timer value during handover, thereby enabling the terminal to normally receive a fast ranging information message from a target base station even when a mobile station handover request message as a handover control message is lost between the terminal and a serving base station due to deterioration of a channel condition. Abstract: A method for delivering and constructing status information and a system thereof are provided to prevent the waste of resources by recovering a buffer based on abbreviated state information. A serving base station receives an HO-IND(Handover Indication) message from a mobile station(302), and confirms the state information of a transmission buffer and a receiving buffer(304). Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for performing a handover in a broadband wireless communication system. In a method for a handover operation of a mobile station in a broadband wireless communication system, the mobile station determines a value of a forced switching timer in consideration of the time to receive a fast ranging information message.
