    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for producing transformed E.coli for 2,3-butanediol overexpression is provided to enhance 2,3-butanediol production. CONSTITUTION: An E.coli for 2,3-butandiol overexpression is prepared by cotransforming E.coli with an expression vector containing a nucleotide encoding acetolactate decarboxylase and a nucleotide sequence encoding alcohol dehydrogenase. The nucleotides are derived from Klebsiella pneumonia. The acetolactate decarboxylase contains an amino acid sequence of sequence number 1. The alcohol dehydrogenase contains an amino acid sequence of sequence number 2. The expression vector is E.coli-Klebsiella shuttle vector Puc18k. The nucleotide sequences are inserted to MCS(multiple cloning site) of pUC18K.
