    Abstract: A method for producing MRI T1 contrasting agent comprising manganese tetroxide is provided to mass-produce plate-like and spherical manganese tetroxide nanoparticles with a size of 6nm - 20nm. A method for producing MRI T1 contrasting agent comprising manganese tetroxide comprises a step of adding one selected from the group consisting of water, hydrogen peroxide, the aqueous solution of the hydrogen peroxide, C1-C4 alcohol and the aqueous solution of the C1-C4 alcohol to a mixture of manganese precursor, surfactant and organic solvent. The manganese precursor is selected from the group consisting of manganese(II) acetate, manganese acetate hydrate, manganese(II) acetylacetonate, manganese(II) bromide, manganese(II) carbonatehydrate, manganese(II) chloride, manganese(II)chloride hydrate, manganese(II) fluoride, manganese(II)iodide, manganese(II) nitrate hydrate and manganese(II) sulfate.
