Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition containing platycodin D for preventing and treating bone diseases is provided to reduce bone absorption and to suppress osteoclasia. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating bone diseases contains platycodin D as an active ingredient. The platycodin D is contained in Platycodon grandiflorum extract. The Platycodon grandiflorum extract is obtained by isolating with water, butane, ethyl acetate, or mixture thereof. The bone diseases are bone injury, osteoporosis, richets, malacosteon, or metabolic bone diseases. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating bone diseases contains therapeutically effective amount of the composition and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

Abstract: 본 발명은 길경의 사포닌 성분 중 하나인 플라티코딘 D를 유효성분으로 하는 골 질환 예방 및 치료용 조성물에 관한 것 이다. 본 발명의 조성물은 파골세포(osteoclast)의 형성을 저해하고 파골세포에 의한 골 흡수를 감소시켜 결과적으로 뼈 파괴를 억제시키는데 매우 우수한 효능을 발휘한다. 본 발명은 골 질환 예컨대 골다공증 및 암 세포의 골전이로 인하여 발생 된 골 질환의 예방 및 치료 효능을 가지는 플라티코딘 D의 의약 및 식품으로서의 기초적인 자료를 제공한다.
