PURPOSE: A hierarchical image encoding and decoding method and a device using the same are provided to allocate bits according to importance of an image, thereby superiorly maintain the entire picture quality. CONSTITUTION: A key frame has a smaller value than an existing QP(Quantization Parameter). A larger number of bits are allocated to a key frame with high importance. Therefore, coding efficiency increases. A larger QM(Quantization Matrix) value is allocated to a reference Wyner-Ziv frame. Therefore, a larger number of parity bits for correcting errors in sub information can be transmitted to an encoding unit. The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for original data comparison, and apparatus and method for original data recovery. The apparatus which compares the original digital data and modified data including security information which is generated by modifying the security information of the original data and is inserted to the modified data includes: a security area detection unit which detects a security area related to the security information of the data; an additional information detection unit which detects the additionally inserted information in response to the security information in the modified data; a distributed source decoding unit which decodes distributed sources based on the detected additional information and the detected security area; and a matching determination unit which compares the result of the distributed source decoding and the security area information and determines whether the result of the distributed source decoding and the security area information match.

PURPOSE: An encoding method based on parallel processing, a channel encoding apparatus using the same, a distributed video encoding apparatus including the channel coding apparatus, and a distributed video decoding apparatus are provided to perform distributed video decoding at high speed by parallely processing channel code encoding. CONSTITUTION: A channel code encoder(400) performing parallel processing comprises an operation environment analysis unit(410), a parallel processing data configuration unit(420), and a parallel channel code encoding unit(430), and a parity buffer(440). The operation environment analysis unit determines the possibility of multiple arithmetic of an apparatus performing channel coding. The parallel processing data configuration unit generates a transmitted block to a bit plane which is able to be processed in parallel. The parallel channel code encoding unit performs parallel distributed video encoding for a single parallel processing message processed serially or a multiple parallel processing message. The parity buffer stores coded data provided from the parallel channel code encoding unit.

An apparatus and a method for saving power consumption of a portable photographing device are provided to turn on a display device only when it is detected that a shutter button is contacted instead of always turning on the display device even though it is set in a photographing mode. A display device(100) includes a user interface unit for photographing an object, editing an image and operating functions. A power supply unit provides power to the display device. A control unit controls turning-on/off of the display device. A sensing unit senses whether a user desires to photograph an object by a portable photographing device. When it is sensed that the user photographs the object, the display device is turned on. A power saving method selection unit is configured to save power supply of the display device. The sensing unit is prepared in a shutter button of a user sensing type.

PURPOSE: A distributed video encoding/decoding device using adaptive quantization and a method thereof are provided to improve bit rate to distortion performance of entire images by performing quantization of suitable intensity depending on the image area. CONSTITUTION: A block unitizing unit(611) divides an inputted Wyner-Ziv coded picture into predetermined encoding unit. A adaptive quantization processing unit(615) decides quantization intensity of each area through encoding unit information. The block unitizing unit outputs the encoding unit information in the determined adaptive quantization intensity. An adaptive quantizing unit(612) performs the quantization of the encoding unit information. A channel code encoding unit(613) outputs parity through channel encoding of the quantized input information.

The apparatus for displaying a function according to the present invention includes: a display unit which includes a touch interface to which an input pattern is inputted; and a control unit which predicts a target function of a user, based on at least one of the input pattern and additional information, and displays information on the predicted target function through the display unit.
