Abstract: An image fiber to prevent ambient light penetration comprises optical fiber cores and cladding which surrounds the cores and the spaces between them. A primary coating contg. a light absorbing substance covers the cores and the cladding. A quarts sleeve is between the primary coating and the cores. Pref. the light absorbig material is C particles, NiO, Co2O3, CuO, Cr2O3 or MnO. Fiber in which incidence of light from the outside is prevented and a high contrast field image obtained.
