    Abstract: A peptide is provided to alleviate symptoms of muscular dystrophy and delay outbreak of the muscular dystrophy by inhibiting apoptosis of myoblasts and increasing resistance of the myoblasts against oxidative stress. A peptide consists of AA1-AA2-valine-isoleucine-aspartate-AA6, wherein the AA1 amino acid is alanine or isoleucine, the AA2 amino acid is methionine or isoleucine, and the AA6 is methionine or serine. A composition for preventing or treating muscular dystrophy comprises 0.001-200muM of the peptide.
