CONSTITUTION: A machining tool chuck for a retainer ring of a vertical lathe comprises a gripping member(10), an insertion block(30), and a cutting edge fixing bolt(40). The gripping member has first and second walls(13,19) and a stop ball(15). The insertion block is installed in a space between the first and second wall parts of the gripping member to rotate. The insertion block has a guide groove, a plurality of seating grooves, a cutting edge mounting groove(35), and a rotation preventing groove(37). The guide groove is formed on one surface facing the inside of the first wall portion. The seating grooves are formed in the guide groove in a regular interval. The stop ball is inserted into the seating groove. The cutting edge mounting groove is formed along the center of the rim face.
