Abstract: A composition for the treatment and protection of immune disease comprising the extract of Anethi fructus is provided to increase NO2 production causing inhibition of cancer cells, cytokine expression, CD14 expression causing T-cell production and spleen cell growth, and inhibit growth of bacteria. The composition for the treatment and protection of immune disease comprises 0.1-50 wt.% of the extract of Anethi fructus which is prepared by extracting Anethi fructus with a polar solvent of water or C1-C4 lower alcohol. The daily dosage of the Anethi fructus extract is 0.0001 to 100 mg/kg and the composition is a pharmaceutical or health food composition. The health food composition is formulated as powder, granule, tablet, capsule, pill, solution or drink.

Abstract: A composition for enhancing immune activity comprising the extract of Salicis radicis cortex is provided to increase production of NO2 which inhibit growth of cancer cells, expression of cytokine related to T-cell and expression of CD14 without toxicity to human.
