A composition for enhancing immune activity comprising the extract of Salicis radicis cortex is provided to increase production of NO2 which inhibit growth of cancer cells, expression of cytokine related to T-cell and expression of CD14 without toxicity to human. A composition for enhancing immune activity comprises 0.1-50 wt.% of the extract of Salicis radicis cortex which is prepared by extracting with a polar solvent selected from water, C1-C4 lower alcohol or a mixed solvent thereof, wherein the daily dosage of Salicis radicis cortex extract is 0.0001-100 mg/kg, preferably 0.001-10 mg/kg and the composition is a pharmaceutical or health food composition having a formulation selected from tablet, capsule, pill and solution. The food or drink for enhancing immune activity comprises 0.01-50 wt.% of the health food composition.

The present invention relates to a composition containing an Ixeris dentata extract as an active ingredient for anti-aging. The Ixeris dentata extract enhances generation of ceramide in cells. Ceramide has a double chain lamellar structure, maintains skin elasticity by inducing a bond between skin surface and keratinocytes, and suppresses skin aging with skin moisturizing effect, thereby suppressing or alleviating skin aging and preventing or treating atopic dermatitis. Accordingly, the Ixeris dentata extract which enhances generation of ceramide in a body can be used as an active ingredient of a composition for treating, alleviating, or preventing atopy and as an active ingredient of a cosmetic composition for skin moisturization. An antibacterial composition for inhibiting growth of zoonoses-causing pathogenic bacteria contains the extract of Fraxinus rhynchophylla which is prepared with water, C1-C4 lower alcohol or a mixed solvent thereof, or compounds isolated from the Fraxinus rhynchophylla extract including esculetin(6,7-dihydroxy coumarin), fraxidin(6,7-dimethoxy-8-hydroxy coumarin), fraxetin(7,8-dihydroxy-6-methoxy coumarin), oleuropein, fraxidin 8-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside and escuside, wherein the zoonoses-causing pathogenic bacteria include Salmonella typhimurium.
