Abstract: Provided is an acryl polyol resin composition, which is compatible with a cellulose ester resin to realize unique physical properties of the cellulose ester, and is useful as a metallic basecoat or transparent topcoat for a car, or a monocoat for plastics. The solution polymerized acryl polyol resin composition compatible with cellulose ester comprises 40-70 wt% of a copolymer of acryl monomers and 30-60 wt% of an organic solvent, wherein the copolymer of acryl monomers is prepared by mixing 99.0-99.9 wt% of a monovinyl monomer and 0.1-10 wt% of a divinyl monomer in the presence of an initiator. The acryl polyol resin has a content of non-volatile components of 40-70 wt%, a Gardner bubble viscosity of N to about Z5, an acid number of 0-10 and a color number of 0-3.
