Abstract:
A process of fabricating a composite of nylon 610 and multi-walled carbon nano-tubes(MWCNT) is provided, by which MWCNT is dispersed uniformly and stably using nonionic surfactant. The process includes the steps of: removing impurities of MWCNT and purifying MWCNT; preparing a dispersant by dispersing the purified MWCNT in distilled water containing surfactant; preparing an organic phase containing carbon tetrachloride and sebacoyl chloride; preparing aqueous composite solution containing hexamethylenediamine and sodium hydroxide; and adding the composite solution to the organic phase to form two separate phases and deriving polymerization at interface of the two phases. The purification provides the carbon nano-tube with purity more than 99% by treating the nano-tube with nitric acid solution and sulfuric acid solution, respectively.
Abstract:
A method for producing a polymeric fibrous membrane from a polymer material by using a simple electrospinning apparatus, and a superhydrophobic fibrous membrane having a contact angle to water of 150 degrees or more by using inherent properties and surface characteristics of fiber and membrane are provided. A method for producing a polystyrene fiber comprises the steps of: preparing a mixed solution of polystyrene and dimethylformamide containing 30 to 40 wt.% of a polystyrene polymer; and electrospinning the mixed solution, wherein the mixed solution is electrospun at a fluid rate of 50 to 150 mul/min, and the electrospinning has an electric field intensity of 16 to 19.6 kV. An apparatus for producing a polystyrene fiber comprises: a syringe pump(14) for applying a predetermined pressure to a polystyrene solution; a capillary tube(12) for spinning a polystyrene solution provided from the syringe pump; a stainless steel needle(13) extending to a lower side of the capillary tube; a high voltage power supply(11) for applying a voltage to the tip of the needle; and a stainless steel rotating drum(15) installed below the needle.
