Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for converting rough shaped silica powder into spherical shaped silica powder is provided to convert silica powder the surface of which is formed in a rough and random shape into silica powder the surface of which is formed in a spherical shape by heating the rough shaped surface of crushed silica powder. CONSTITUTION: The method for converting rough shaped silica powder into spherical shaped silica powder comprises the steps of injecting crushed silica powder, fuel and oxygen into a torch; converting the rough shaped silica powder into the spherical shaped silica powder by melting the surface of the crushed silica powder using flame produced by combustion of the fuel; and separating waste gas from the spherical shaped silica powder by cooling and filtering the silica powder the surface of which is melted, wherein the fuel is LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), acetylene, or argon plasma, temperature of the flame is 1400 to 2000 deg.C, and the cooling is naturally or rapidly performed.
