    Abstract: Suspend Al(OH)3 (53% as Al2O3) 30.6g and Mg(OH)2 (66% as MgO) 58.2g into water 300ml, add Na2CO3 aq. soln. (99% Na2CO3 44g in water 100ml) to the above soln., heat for 2-3hr at 70-100 deg.C to prepare pptn., washing with water 3 liter, and dry at 80 deg.C to give the title compd. 97.5g. Prepg. compd. is useful for treating gastroenteric disorder.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A preparation method of basic aluminum magnesium hydroxycarbonate is provided which uses aluminum hydroxide gel and magnesium hydroxide gel instead of water-soluble salts or water-insoluble hydroxide as an aluminum and magnesium source and ammonium carbonate or ammonium bicarbonate as a carbon source. CONSTITUTION: Basic aluminum magnesium hydroxycarbonate of formula I is prepared by diluting aluminum hydroxide gel in water and reacting with one or more compounds selected from ammonium carbonate or ammonium bicarbonate at 80-100°C. The formula I is Al2Mg6(OH)2.4H2O. The method uses aluminum hydroxide gel and magnesium hydroxide gel as an aluminum such that the reaction is advanced with a high reactivity without impurities and ammonium carbonate or ammonium bicarbonate as a carbon source such that it is unnecessary to use an excess amount of carbon dioxide and thereby the reaction is accelerated much more.
