Abstract: A method and an apparatus of translating an x query statement into an SQL statement by using sorted outer-union method based on extended sort column and extended tuple identifier are provided to convert association data into XML(eXtensible Markup Language). A temporary result tuple about an inner node of the XML document tree is generated. A select statement is comprised based on the FLOWR expression included in the X Query door. A from statement is organized through the union all and connection of the temporary result tuples. An order by statement is organized based on the sorted signature of temporary result tuples.
