Abstract: PURPOSE: An MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) T1 contrast agent is provided to enable anatomy image with high resolution and show cell distribution. CONSTITUTION: An MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) T1 imaging agent contains manganese oxide nanoparticle. In the T1 contrast agent, the manganese oxide nanoparticle is coated with biocompatible material. The biocompatible material is polyvinyl alcohol, polylactide, polyglycol cholide, polylactide glycolide copolymer, polyanhydride, polyester, polyetherester, poIycaprolactone, polyesteramide, polyacrylate, polyurethanes, polyvinylpluoride, and polyvinyl imidazole.

Abstract: A bio-compatible suspension stabilizer for dispersing inorganic nano-particles in an aqueous medium is provided to modify surfaces of the inorganic nano-particles to have hydrophilic properties and easily allow ligand having in vivo activity to be accepted. A bio-compatible suspension stabilizer for dispersing inorganic nano-particles in an aqueous medium is phosphin oxide represented by the formula 1. A method for producing the phosphin oxide comprises the following steps of: dissolving a bio-compatible polymer in an organic solvent to prepare a bio-compatible polymer organic solvent; adding phosphin oxide having a leaving group into the prepared bio-compatible polymer organic solvent to bond the phosphin oxide with the bio-compatible polymer; reacting a compound having a functional group in order to induce the functional group which can be bonded with the functional ligand at a position of the leaving group of the bio-compatible polymer.

Abstract: A method for producing an MRI(magnetic resonance imaging) T1 contrasting agent comprising manganese oxide nanoparticle is provided to obtain enhanced fine image as compared to the conventional T1-weighted image, and diagnose and treat cancers by conjugating a cancer marker with the manganese oxide nanoparticle. A method for producing an MRI T1 contrasting agent comprising manganese oxide nanoparticle comprises the steps of: (i) pyrolyzing Mn-C4-25 carboxylate complex to prepare manganese oxide nanoparticles having diameter of 35 nm or less, dispersed in an organic solvent selected from C6-26 aromatic hydrocarbon, C6-26 ether, C6-25 aliphatic hydrocarbon, C6-26 alcohol, C6-26 thiol and C6-25 amine; and (ii) coating the manganese oxide nanoparticles with a biocompatible material selected from polyvinylalcohol, polylactide, polyglycolide, poly(lactide-co-glycolide), polyanhydride, polyester, polyetherester, polycaprolactone, polyesteramide, polyacrylate, polyurethane, polyvinyl fluoride, poly(vinyl imidazole), chlorosulphonate polyolefin, polyethylene oxide, poly(ethylene glycol) and dextran. Further, a thickness of the poly(ethylene glycol) is 5 to 10 nm.

An MRI T1 contrasting agent comprises manganese oxide nanoparticles which are coated by a biocompatible material selected from polyvinylalcohol, polylactide, polyglycolide, poly(lactide-co-glycolide), polyanhydride, polyester, polyetherester, polycaprolactone, polyesteramide, polyacrylate, polyurethane, polyvinyl fluoride, poly(vinyl imidazole), chlorosulphonate polyolefin, polyethylene oxide, poly(ethylene glycol) and dextran, and have particle size of 50 nm or less, preferably 40 nm or less, or more preferably 35 nm or less. Further, a thickness of the poly(ethylene glycol) is 5 to 10 nm.
