Abstract: A human short helical peptide-1(hSHP-1) secreted from human is provided to show strong antimicrobial, anticancer and immunoreaction stimulating activities with no allergic reaction, thereby being used as a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating infectious mucosal diseases. A pharmaceutical composition for treating infectious diseases of oral cavity, eyeball, hair, skin, nasal cavity, gastrointestinal tract, peritoneum, pleura, vagina, prostate, bladder, urethra, bursa, hypophysis membrane, outer ear, inner ear, bone marrow or an internal important organs comprises at least one peptide of SEQ ID : NOs. 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 or a tandem repeat thereof as an effective ingredient, wherein pathogen of the infectious disease is Gram negative or Gram positive bacteria, fungus, encapsulated virus or methicillin-resistant bacteria.

Abstract: A novel human short helical peptide-1(hSHP-1) is provided which is specifically expressed in human and has antimicrobial, antitumor, and immune stimulating activity. And a pharmaceutical composition for antimicrobial, antitumor, and immune stimulating activity and antimicrobial living articles comprising the same peptide are provided. A peptide having anti-microbial, anti-tumor or immune stimulating activity is selected from the group consisting of: (a) an N-terminal of the peptide selected from the group consisting of 12th to 31st amino acid residues of a sequence described in SEQ ID : NO. 2, and a C-terminal of the peptide selected from the group consisting of 45th to 46th amino acid residues of a sequence described in SEQ ID : NO. 2 and having more than 16-mer; and (b) a tandem repeat of the peptide(a). A pharmaceutical composition for treating infectious diseases of oral cavity, eyeball, hair, skin, nasal cavity, gastrointestine, peritoneum, pleura, prostate, bladder, urinary tract, articular capsule, pituitary gland diaphragm, outer ear, inner ear, bone marrow or internal important organs comprises the peptide as an effective ingredient.
