    Abstract: PURPOSE: A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agent coated with beta-glucan is provided to effectively allow immunocytes to enter, thereby distinguishing a lesion and a normal tissue in a tissue containing immunocytes through MRI. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing MRI contrast agent comprises the steps of: synthesizing superparamagnetic nanoparticles; oxidizing and dialyzing the superparamagnetic nanoparticles and preparing a superparamagnetic storage solution; diluting the storage solution with distilled water and dropping a beta-glucan solution at 1-10°C; and adding a basic solution to the reactant and adjusting the pH concentration of the reactant.
