Abstract: PURPOSE: A therapeutic agent for anti-diabetes containing Fructus Xanthii extract is provided to suppress NF-kappa B activation and to protect cell by nitric oxide reduction. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for suppressing islet break after pancreas or pancreatic duct transplantation surgery contains 0.1-99 weight% of Fructus Xanthii extract. The composition further contains carrier, excipient or diluents. The composition is used in the form of powder, tablet, capsule, suspension, syrup, dry syrup or aerosol, suppository, or external use.

Abstract translation: 目的：提供含有枸杞子提取物的抗糖尿病治疗剂，以抑制NF-κB活化，并通过一氧化氮减少来保护细胞。 构成：胰腺或胰管移植手术后抑制胰岛破裂的药物组合物含有0.1-99重量％的苦参提取物。 组合物还含有载体，赋形剂或稀释剂。 该组合物以粉末，片剂，胶囊，悬浮液，糖浆，干糖浆或气雾剂，栓剂或外用形式使用。

Abstract: 본 발명은 창이자(蒼耳子,
Fructus

Xanthii ) 추출물을 항당뇨병 치료제로서 사용하는 용도에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 창이자 추출물은 싸이토카인 (IL-1β 및 IFN-γ)에 의한 췌장 β-세포주인 RINm5F 세포 독성을 억제하였으며, 이같은 세포 보호 효과는 래트로부터 분리한 islets에서 인슐린 분비능을 유지함을 통해 확인하였다.
본 발명에 따르면 창이자 추출물은 싸이토카인에 의한 NF-κB 활성의 증가를 유의하게 억제하였으며, 이는 IκBα의 분해 억제에 기인하였다. 싸이토카인에 의한 NF-κB 활성 억제는 NF-κB 타겟 유전자인 iNOS 유전자 발현을 억제하여 대사 산물인 산화질소 (nitric oxide) 생성 감소를 통해 세포를 보호하는 것으로 증명되었으며, 따라서 항당뇨, 구체적으로는 제1형 당뇨병 예방 및 치료제로서 사용가능하다.

Abstract: A therapeutic agent for antidiabetes is provided to effectively prevent and treat type I diabetes and suppress the damage of islet after pancreas surgery. A therapeutic agent for treating a type I diabetes comprises a Fructus xanthii extract. The therapeutic agent for suppressing the damage of islet after pancreas surgery or pancreatic duct transplantation surgery comprises the Fructus xanthii extract. The Fructus xanthii extract contains Fructus xanthii and water in a weight ratio of 1:3-9, and is obtained by extracting at 5-100‹C for 15 minutes - 48 hours. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating antidiabetes comprises 0.1-99 weight% of Fructus xanthii, carrier, excipient, and diluents. The composition is formulated in a type of power, tablet, capsule, suspension, syrup, oral formulation selected from pill or aerosol, suppository, or the sterilization injection agent.
