Abstract: The present invention relates to a vanillyl alcohol-containing copolyoxalate (PVAX) copolymer, a PVAX microparticle comprising the PVAX, a drug delivery system including the PVAX microparticle, an antioxidant or anti-inflammatory composition, a composition for preventing or treating ischemic disease, a composition for inhibiting the side effects of anticancer drugs, a contrast agent, and a composition for diagnosing ischemic disease. The PVAX microparticle according to the present invention can be used as a drug delivery system and an antioxidant or anti-inflammatory composition because the PVAX microparticle according to the present invention is non-toxic, has outstanding biocompatibility and are degraded under physiological conditions while releasing vanillyl alcohol, which has outstanding antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects. And the PVAX microparticle according to the present invention can be used as a composition for inhibiting the side effects of anticancer drugs because the PVAX microparticle according to the present invention inhibits the side effects of anticancer drugs such as hepatic or cardiac abnormalities. Also, the PVAX microparticle according to the present invention can be used as a contrast agent or a composition for diagnosing ischemic disease because the PVAX microparticle according to the present invention specifically detects hydrogen peroxide in vivo.

Abstract: 본발명은 PVAX (vanillyl alcohol-containing copolyoxalate) 공중합체, 상기 PVAX 공중합체를포함하는 PVAX 미립구, 상기 PVAX 미립구를포함하는약물전달체, 항산화또는항염증용조성물, 허혈성질환의예방또는치료용조성물, 항암제부작용억제용조성물, 조영제및 허혈성질환의진단용조성물에관한것이다. 본발명에따른 PVAX 미립구는독성이없으며, 우수한생체적합성을가지고, 생리적조건에서분해되면서바닐릴알코올을방출함으로써뛰어난항산화, 항염증및 항세포사멸효과를가지고있어, 약물전달체및 항산화또는항염증용조성물로유용하게이용될수 있으며, 항암제투여로유도되는심장또는간 이상등의부작용을억제하는효과를가지고있어, 항암제부작용억제용조성물로이용될수 있다. 또한, 본발명에따른 PVAX 미립구는생체내에서과산화수소를특이적으로검출하는기능을가지고있어, 조영제또는허혈성질환의진단용조성물로유용하게이용될수 있다.
