Abstract: PURPOSE: A device and method for opening/closing by the fingerprint recognition is provided to prevent an illegal open try in advance by offering the data that can trace the try content of a non-approved person when the event happens the next. CONSTITUTION: A fingerprint recognizer(10) converts the shape of the fingerprint into an electronic signal when a user puts own fingerprint on the fingerprint recognizer. An image processor(20) converts a fingerprint image or face image, which are captured by a CCD(Close Circuit Digital) camera, into the electronic signal. A key input unit(30) can configure the operation of a controller(100) by having function keys, which controls the registration of the fingerprint and image, or the search operation. After configuring the registration mode by using the function keys, the user can register the fingerprint or image of an approved person to the first storage(40) via the fingerprint recognizer or image processor. The controller compares the stored fingerprint or image with the input signal. If both are the same, the controller makes a locking device driver(70) operate. Otherwise, the controller stores the inputted fingerprint or image on the second storage.
