Abstract: PURPOSE: A polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display using the same are provided to obtain transmittance and mechanical strength similar to a triacetyl cellulose film by using polyethylene terephthalate film as a protective layer. CONSTITUTION: A polarizing plate(11) includes a polarizer(21), a protective layer(23), and an optical compensation film(27). The polarizing plate includes an adhesive layer(22a) bonding the polarizer and the protective layer and also includes an adhesive layer(22b) bonding the polarizer and optical compensation film A release film(30) is located in the lower part of the optical compensation film and is removed in adhering an upper polarizing plate to a liquid crystal display panel. An adhesion layer(28) is formed between the optical compensation film and the release film.

CONSTITUTION: A polarizing plate (11) comprises a polarizer (21), an optical compensation film (27), a thin film layer (24), and a coating layer (26). The optically compensation film is positioned in the top of the polarizer, and an upper polarizing plate locates a release film attached on a liquid display panel. A thin film layer transmits light polarized by the polarizer and has an in-plane phase difference value of 500 through 3000nm. A coating layer has anti-glare property of 35% to 15 and includes multiple anti-glare particles having different refractivity.
