Abstract:
PURPOSE: A liquid crystal alignment agent is provided to improve permeability and response speed, to have excellent electrical characteristics such as voltage holding ratio and residual DC, and to easily control pretilt angle. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal alignment agent comprises 'polyamic acids with a repeating unit indicated as the chemical formula 1', 'polyimides with a repeating unit indicated as the chemical formula 2', and 'polymers with combinations of polymers selected from the group of their combinations. In the chemical formula 1 and 2, X^1 and X^2 are 'tetravalent organic radicals respectively induced from alicyclic acid dianhydrides or aromatic acid dianhydrides' and Y^1 and Y^2 are 'divalent organic radicals respectively induced from diamines', and the diamines contains 'a diamine capable of cross-linking indicated as the chemical formula 3'.

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal alignment agent is provided to improve transmittance, response rate, liquid crystal orientation, and electro-optical characteristic. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal alignment agent comprises 1-25 wt% of a polymer selected from polyamic acids, polyimides, and combinations thereof; 0.01-10 wt% of a photopolymerization initator; and residual solvent. The photopolymerization initiator is selected from oxime, benzophenone, triazine, acetophenone, thioxanthone, benzoin, carbazole, diketone, sulfonium borate, diazo, and biimidazole-based compound, and combinations thereof.
