    Abstract: PURPOSE: A liquid crystal alignment agent is provided to improve transmittance, response rate, liquid crystal alignment, and electro-optical performance and to facilitate the control of a pretilt angle. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal alignment agent comprises polyamic acid which includes a polymer which includes a structure unit represented by chemical formula 1, a polyimide represented by chemical formula 2, and a combination thereof. The weight average molecular weights of the polyamic acid and the polyimide are 10,000-500,000. The liquid crystal alignment agent comprises the polyamic acid and polyimide with a mixing ratio of 1:99-50:50. The liquid crystal alignment agent has a solid phase of 1-25 weight%. A liquid crystal film is manufactured by spreading the liquid crystal alignment agent on a substrate.
